About Amy
Amy Swibel founded Well+Educated after her experiences in the academic and wellness worlds over the last fifteen years. While she often felt like she straddled the world of academia and wellness, she realized her heart lies at the intersection of the two, where the possibilities and potential for individual and community growth are limitless. After graduating from New York University, Amy spent time in Haiti and Spain teaching, developing curriculum, and conducting professional development on educating the whole child. Upon earning her M.S. in Education from Northwestern University, Amy taught high school history in Chicago, where she also served as a coach and mentor to new teachers. Drawing on her background as a certified yoga instructor, Amy frequently integrated mindfulness into the classroom. She experienced firsthand the power and impact mindfulness had on her students. Amy subsequently took on the role of Director of Professional Development, where she trained educators on how to integrate yoga, mindfulness, and social-emotional learning in the classroom.
